How the math works: plants per year = sites × replantings. True cost per year = (hardware ÷ years kept) + pods + nutrients + subscription + electricity. Year 1 subtracts the starter plants included in the box. Electricity counts only when the system grows indoors, using the brand's kWh figure or the light wattage × hours. Estimates are labeled on the comparison table.
